An Unsecured Home During An Earthquake

An earthquake moves the foundation under a home from side to side, laterally. If your house is not secured, it can slide off.

Do I need to do this…does it work?

can you earthquake proof my home?

will my home collapse?

will my house slide off this hill?

It’s hard not to get too technical, but we can answer these questions for you when we come out and take a look. If your house was built before 1975, it is probably not attached to its foundation—if it was built before the late ’80s, it may be attached but insufficiently for a larger earthquake.

as good as it gets

“The entire process from the initial meeting and bid process to the completion of the job on time and on budget was what we all hope for when we hire a contractor.
Their work in my home in NE PDX was done in a very professional manner and I have complete confidence in the work. BTW, they are super clean if that matters to you like it does to me.”

Prompt, Responsive, and Careful

“Secure Seismic did an amazing job with our basement retrofit, completing both a prescriptive retrofit (bolting the house to the foundation) and installing a shear wall around most of its perimeter. They
+ were prompt, responsive, and careful in explaining all the work they were doing;
+ got the job done on time;
+ spent a bunch of time working with our structural engineer to cut costs (nearly $1k) while retaining security;
+ and produced excellent work.”
