An earthquake moves the foundation under a home from side to side, laterally. If your house is not secured, it can slide off.

It’s hard not to get too technical, but we can answer these questions for you when we come out and take a look. If your house was built before 1975, it is probably not attached to its foundation—if it was built before the late ’80s, it may be attached but insufficiently for a larger earthquake.
